RHS Garden Rosemoor

The RHS Garden Rosemoor is a stunning garden located in Devon’s beautiful Torridge Valley, close to Dartmoor National Park. Formerly an estate owned the Palmer family, it was generously donated to the Royal Horticultural Society by Lady Anne Palmer, herself a keen gardener, in 1988. Today it is an enchanting attraction with a variety of seasonal gardens, an award-winning kitchen, a plant shop, educational centre, and even holiday accommodation.

Spanning an area of 40 acres, the many gardens of Rosemoor produce delights through all four seasons; Cherry trees blossom in the Cherry Garden during the spring, the Hot Garden displays it’s vibrant colours throughout the summer, the Woodlands are afire with reds and yellows in Autumn, and the Winter Garden is full of evergreens and scented flowering plants. There is also much more to see, including a Devon Cottage Garden, The Fruit and Vegetable Garden, natural flower meadows even a lake and waterfall!

Rosemoor’s Garden Kitchen makes wonderful use of the fresh fruit and vegetables harvested from the Fruit and Vegetable Garden, and provides an extensive menu of hot and cold dishes, light lunches and refreshments. The head chef works closely with the gardeners in planning out a variety of seasonal produce all year round. This restaurant regularly retains the title of ‘Best Garden Centre Restaurant of The Year’, and that’s in no small part due to the fine produce the gardens create.

RHS Garden Rosemoor is also the stage for an impressive roster of events, workshops, courses, musical performances art exhibitions, and more! Be sure to check to see what’s on before whilst planning your visit!

There is also great shopping with a range of top quality plants in the Plant Centre, including RHS Award of Garden Merit and plants that are approved RHS Perfect for Pollinators. The Plant Centre offers a 5-year hardy plant guarantee, which goes to show their belief in the quality of their products.

So, if you’re a horticultural enthusiast, RHS Garden Rosemoor is a must. For families and couples, this a fantastic destination for day out, with plenty to do, see, and eat!
