Sand Bay

Sand Bay

If you’re looking for something more wild, rough and ready, then Sand Bay is for you. This large sand and shingle beach in Somerset boasts great views of the Bristol Channel and South Wales, and is a more peaceful and remote location for beach goers. Though the facilities are more sparse than some other locations, the free parking, good local food/drink, and toilets cover the essential needs.

Situated between Weston Woods and the National Trust headland at Sand Point, this beach is considered a haven for dogs! It is very popular among dog walkers wanting a less crowded, restful location to let their pups run free, and they can do so all year round.

There is no lifeguard service, so swimmers and surfers need take to the waves at their own risk.

So for a relaxing and tranquil beach experience, give Sand Bay a try! Take in a long walk while admiring the views, grab an ice-cream, or enjoy a nice picnic with the sand between your toes.
