West Bay

West Bay

West Bay is a popular harbour settlement and resort on the South Coast, in Dorset. It is the gateway to the famous Jurassic Coast, and is characterised by it’s majestic sandstone cliffs that back its impressive sand and shingle beach. West Bay is a fantastic seaside location for a family holiday with a wealth of activities including scenic walking, fossil hunting, fishing, scuba diving, paragliding, golfing and much more!

West Bay is short drive from Bridport, and between the two, there is a great variety of guest houses, B&Bs, hotels, camping and caravan parks to choose from. When it comes to eating out, like the rest of Dorset, there is an excellent selection of restaurants, bistros, cafes, tea rooms and pubs, where seafood is often the specialty!

During your stay, you can spend some time relaxing on East Beach, admiring the grandeur of the coastline, and feasting on an ice-cream. West Beach is great for the little ones, with a shallower sand shelf, and they will love exploring the rock pools, and crab fishing. For other entertainment, there are play areas, a swimming pool with fun slides, and amusement arcades. A health and leisure complex is in Bridport, for those who would like to try out a sport.

Partake in some fresh fish and chips and walk along the Jurassic Pier, over 240m long with disabled access; it is a great place to enjoy your food!
